Build Better Benchwork

6 lessons · 2.5 hours of instruction · $39

Every great model railroad starts with a solid foundation, and getting it right makes everything that follows easier! In this six-lesson course, expert modeler David Popp shows you how to choose the proper lumber and materials, build sturdy framework (aka benchwork), and even add removable legs and casters for a model railroad that can be shuttled around a room.

As David plans and builds a small HO scale (1:87) layout, you’ll also learn how to incorporate elevated terrain, install a scene-dividing backdrop, and add hardboard fascia for a fine-finished appearance. It’s all done with basic tools and simple, proven techniques that work for layouts of any size or scale!
